FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THERAPY?

Therapy gives you the opportunity to discuss whatever is on your mind in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space. A counsellor will not offer solutions or advice but is there to listen and to offer empathy. Through exploration of your thoughts and feelings counselling will help you to gain greater insight into who you are and what is right for you.

CAN I BOOK AN INITIAL SESSION?

Please contact me to book a free, no obligation, 20 minute telephone consultation. This will allow us to discuss your needs and expectations as well as any questions you might have.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

How many sessions a person needs really does depend on the individual. I prefer to work on a long-term basis with clients. However, if you are not sure I usually suggest an initial course of 6 consecutive sessions and we can review from there.

HOW WILL THERAPY HELP?

Therapy is an opportunity for you to explore your feelings and any difficulties you may be experiencing. It is a safe and confidential space where there is no judgement or expectation.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE WEEKLY SESSIONS?

I prefer to see clients on a weekly basis so that we are able to build a relationship and ensure continuity. However, I do work according to school terms so there may be breaks in between sessions. In some cases, it might be beneficial to meet twice a week if this is feasible. I am always happy to discuss your needs and assess as we go.
